Direct Mail Campaign Success

As we move forward in today’s social media environment, we cannot forget that getting direct and personal is not  a wasted effort. Direct mail campaigns, done correctly,  can catch the potential client’s eye and draw them into a call to action. Five tips to help your direct mail campaign succeed: 1. Cultivate the perfect list and craft targeted messaging. Make every piece count. Identify your target audience and create a message to fit each target appropriately. Continually refining your data for more campaigns, to create successful future campaigns. 2. Personalize content and be personal. With digital printing it is easier than ever to personalize a mail piece. Use their name, their company, interest and any relevant information in your data base for a responsive campaign. 3. Be specific with your call to action, and focus on just one. Be clear about your call to action, make it easy for the potential client to see and want to pursue.  4. Include a way to track performance, then test and measure what works. Ensure that your efforts are not wasted on your campaign. Make sure to include text or a number on your direct mail piece so that you can track your campaign performance. A good way to do this is to include a promotional code or to ask “How did you learn about us?”.  5. Continually optimize and be consistent with direct mail efforts. Going back to number one, you want to continually refine your data for each campaign. Prepare, Test, Measure, Analyze, Modify and Repeat. These steps are to ensure a successful direct mail piece campaign. In 2010, that figure jumped to 34-percent, making a remarkable 21-percent increase. But last year, personalization saw even bigger increases, with seven of the 10 months studied registering variable data printing (VDP) usage even higher than 34 percent. Overall, the 2011 numbers represented a 46-percent leap from the 2009 levels.” Companies and organizations are using prospect data in order to personalize their mail more than ever. Is Your Brand Consistent?

Is Your Brand Consistent?

Brand Consistency This month I want to focus on brand quality and consistency. It is very important that you put out a clear and consistent message in all of your marketing. Many times I have seen that when a company “piece mills” out different items to different vendors the quality of their brand is lost or diluted. This also creates headaches and lost time while working with multiple vendors – time lost that could have been invested running your business and closing deals. I want to highlight one of our clients, Schultz Custom Homes and Remodeling. They have utilized our services to manage their branding. Janet and Tom consulted with their account manager Carol Bell. They made the decision to place their trust in her and Steele Creek Printing to manage their company’s branding. They’ve told me that they are very pleased with the “professionalism and quality we bring to the table.” The image below shows how everything came together for an outstanding presentation. For some additional images click here. There is a link to the right that has a flyer that highlights many of the tradeshow items used. I invite you to take a look. I can’t stress enough the importance of how all of this works with your printed collateral as well as your internet driven marketing. Printing is the backbone of our operation, but as you can see we can help you deliver a consistent message across any media. Charles Wilkerson President PS: I would encourage you to consult with us today and let us manage the process for you, and you can get back to what you do best....
